The Royal Rage 2 + Soft Exo Logic release day is approaching. As you may have learned from our social media posts, after our latest "drop day" in late May, we decided to push our Logic releases to June 9th, contrary to the original European release date of June 2. This was caused by the technical issues that arose with the previous drop, causing items in our stock to oversell and people unfortunately losing items they had in their carts. You can find a more detailed statement on the issues that plagued that release here, but in a nutshell, our systems failed and many of you were left disappointed. That's a bogey on us and we need to get better. Our apologies for all who found themselves at the short end of the stick that day.
Going forward, you can expect the following changes to what you've seen in the past.
No more reserve cart
Unfortunately we have not been able to find a solution for the issues in our custom reserve cart system, that's supposed to create a reservation for your products for 15 minutes. For this reason, we unfortunately need to disable the reserve cart for our June 9th release and all other upcoming releases until further notice. This means that products in your cart are not reserved for you during the drop. The best and only way to secure the items in your cart is by swiftly heading to checkout, filling all the necessary information and completing the purchase process by taking all the steps required for a successful payment for your order. The reservation for your products is created when and only when you've gone through the payment process and you return back to the store. If at this point you see an order confirmation page, you have placed your order successfully. If not, you unfortunately were not fast enough and your card will not be charged.
Card payments only
We have detected that the cause for overselling the items we had available was largely caused by the payment services used on our checkout page. Due to this, during our upcoming drops, we can only offer card payment options. The usual payment options (PayPal, Finnish online bank payments and select mobile payment services) are supported outside product releases, but on release days, all other payment options except card payments will be turned off. Please do your best to be prepared for this during all future drops. Please bear in mind, that as it's again expected that we have less inventory than there's demand, items are likely to sell out fast, so in order to place a successful order, you need to be quick in completing the payment process in full.
How to prepare for a quick-fire release
To maximize your chances in placing an order for the items you like successfully, we recommend going through at least the following steps:
- Log in to your account and make sure you have all the necessary information ready
- Have your payment card ready and make sure you have sufficient balance on it
- Fill your cart in advance with any non-release items you wish to order besides the new items
- Please bear in mind that as the cart doesn't create a reservation, it's possible that also the non-release items sell out during the release, so be prepared for that as well
The quantities of these items we have at hand are likely going to be less than the demand. Compared to releases of similar items in the past back in InnovaStore times, the quantities are much higher, but then again, so is the demand. These being our first Primal Run & Signature Series releases of the year, we don't know yet how well the supply matches the demand, but based on what we've seen in the past, it's worth expecting that everything will sell out quickly.
However, we do have a small backup inventory of most of these items in case overselling becomes an issue once again. If, and hopefully when overselling does not happen, we will likely make the backup inventory available on the online store some time after the release. These items are only available under the same terms as the original release items (first come, first served), so asking for them from our customer service in the unlucky scenario that you missed out on the initial drop won't help. We will not post any heads up -messages before the backup inventory becomes available, so if you missed out on the initial drop, we recommend checking back.
The purchase limit for Primal Run Logics and Royal Rage 2's are max 2 items each per customer. The key reasons we have not set the limit at 1 item per customer are that for certain countries, the shipping cost can be quite high compared to the price of a single product and we want people to actually have a chance at throwing their discs, which means a backup disc is necessary in many cases. While this might mean a little fewer people get a disc, at the end of the day, we're in the business of getting discs that people throw into the hands of players, not in the business of maximizing the amount of parcel shipments in the logistics networks.
As said, the purchase limits are per customer (not per order), and we will enforce these limits by cancelling orders from customer that place multiple orders. This is an effort to get as many discs out there as possible, so please do not try to circumvent these limits with any kind of funny business.
Processing time & combining orders
We are expecting another very busy release and as our resources are limited, we unfortunately are not able to combine shipment on orders, if you choose to place multiples for separate items. Order processing time is expected to be around 5-7 business days from the release date, meaning some orders will be shipped the next day, but for some it will take longer. Please be prepared for this as well.
