Orange Edition Mystery Boxes - What to Expect?

Our world-famous Mystery Boxes are back, for the first time ever in Discmania Orange. The 2026 Orange Edition boxes go live on Wednesday, November 4th at 12:00 noon Finnish time (11:00 CET, 10:00 UK time) and could well be gone soon after, so make sure you're ready at go time.

As per tradition, we wrote up what you should know before buying, and what you should be ready for once your box shows up. It's not exactly a two-minute read, but if you know us, you know we'd rather be thorough than leave you guessing.

The choice is yours

If you picked up a box or multiple last winter, you're likely already familiar with the basic format - We've cut out the fluff completely and broken down the selection to three distinct box versions: Team Picks, Night Shift and Glow Mania. For the most part, last year's format was extremely well received, but we did make a few key changes based on your feedback.

Fillers are out, bangers are in

Every disc in the Orange Edition boxes was made specifically for these boxes. Nothing comes from existing inventory, and none of these discs have been available for purchase before. Some are molds in plastics we've never paired them with, some are special runs of known favorites, and some are experiments we simply wanted to try out.

This does mean fewer discs per box than in the Mystery Boxes of a few years back. That's a trade we made on purpose. The older boxes had more discs, but a good part of them were stock models and misprints, ie. the "fillers" many of you told us you could do without. We'd rather put 6 or 7 discs in your box that are worth getting excited about than a bigger stack where some of the discs feel like padding.

The combined value of the contents still comfortably exceeds what similar discs would retail for, but the point of these boxes is the discs, not the MSRP math. If you're mainly after the biggest pile of plastic for your money, the Mystery Box Value Packs are the better bet, and they're not going anywhere.

Everything drops at once on November 4th

All three boxes and the All In Bundle go live at the same time: Wednesday, November 4th at noon Finnish time (11:00 CET, 10:00 UK time) here at Discmania Store Europe, and six hours later at 9AM MT at Discmania Store USA.

Product Discs Who can buy
Team Picks 7 (5 premium, 2 baseline) Everyone
Night Shift 6 premium Everyone
Glow Mania 6 premium glow Shield Club members
All In Bundle All 3 boxes, 19 discs Shield Club members

Glow Mania and the All In Bundle are Shield Club exclusives. Membership is free, but you'll need to be signed up and logged in to buy them. Do that before release day, not when the countdown hits zero. Join the Shield Club here ->

The All In Bundle doesn't have a stock of its own. It draws from the same inventory as the individual boxes, so it's only available as long as all three versions are in stock. Once one of them sells out, so does the bundle.

Be early, be quick

Predicting demand for Mystery Boxes is tricky. A few years back we couldn't make enough of them, then after the boom we made too many, and some Mystery Box discs ended up being sold as singles the following season. We know a lot of you weren't fans of that, and frankly neither were we.

So this year the production numbers are small, the run of each disc is small, and there will be no restocks. Once a version sells out, it's gone for good. These discs were made for the boxes and the boxes are where we want them to end up. We won't pretend we can guarantee that not a single one of them will ever turn up anywhere else, but turning them into regular store products after the season is not the plan.

If you want a sense of how fast things can go, look at our recent 20 Year Anniversary Collector Box. It sold out in 5 minutes in Europe and in 90 seconds in the US. Different product, sure, but the lesson carries over. Last winter, more than one box version evaporated on impact, well before everyone who wanted one got their order in.

So here's our unfiltered advice: if you have your eye on a specific box, be at your screen when the boxes go live, logged in and ready to check out. Waiting until later in the day, let alone later in the week, is a real gamble.

No reservations in the cart

Having a box in your cart doesn't reserve it. If there are more buyers than boxes, the boxes go to whoever gets through checkout first: details filled in, payment done, "Thank you for your order" page on screen. In this game, having the product in your cart just means you showed up to the course, not that you won the tournament. We know that might feel a little crude, but that's just how it goes.

To save precious seconds on release day:

  • Log in to your account (required for Glow Mania and the All In Bundle).
  • Have your card or PayPal ready.
  • Fill your cart in advance with anything else you want in the same order.

Payment options may be limited

Some of our usual payment methods don't play well with quick-fire releases, as they can lead to us selling more boxes than we actually have in stock. To avoid that, some payment options may be switched off during the release. Card payments and PayPal are the safe bets, so have one of those ready. Your usual options will be back once the release rush has settled.

Choose your mystery

Five orange Discmania Mystery Boxes with stacks of discs on top

Each version has its own theme, so you can pick the one that fits how you play. We're not going to spill the contents, but here's what each box is built around. You'll find a bit more on each in the product descriptions.

Team Picks is built like a touring player's bag: the molds, plastics and flights our Team players reach for when they compete. If you want proven flights rather than surprises, this is your box. It's also the only Orange Edition box with baseline plastic in it, because those are discs our Team players actually throw, not because we needed to make up weight. That's why it has 7 discs instead of 6: 5 in premium plastic and 2 in high-durability baseline.

Night Shift is the most experimental box of the lineup. New plastic blends, effects we've rarely run, and mold and material pairings that exist because we wanted to see what happens. Experimental doesn't mean second quality though, every disc went through the same quality checks as everything else. If you want predictable, go with Team Picks instead.

Glow Mania is back, renewed, after being the first box to sell out last year. Every disc is in premium glow plastic. Colors vary, but you should expect at least some white discs in the mix. The molds aren't the same as last year's, although a few popular picks may have gotten another run.

The Value Packs (Active, Medium and Large) are around too. They use solid, game-tested discs from our regular lineup instead of exclusive runs, and give you the most discs for your money. It's also the hassle-free option - It's unlikely that any version would sell out in a bang, so you're able to pick up yours whenever you please.

No more doubles & triples

Overlap was the most common piece of feedback we got on last winter's boxes, so here it is in plain terms.

Between the three versions: no duplicates. If you pick up the All In Bundle, containing one of each box version, you won't get the same plastic and mold combination twice. You might still see a mold or two more than once, but in a different plastic. That's by design, not a packing mistake.

Within the same version: expect overlap. Each version is assembled from a limited pool of models, and each box holds 6 or 7 of them:

Product Discs included Models in the pool
Team Picks 7 10
Glow Mania 6 8
Night Shift 6 7
All In Bundle 19 25

If you buy two boxes of the same version, you'll very likely get several of the same models, especially with Night Shift, where 6 of the 7 models go in every box. Colors might differ, but the discs will certainly repeat. So if variety is what you're after, mix different versions instead of doubling up on one.

Weights and colors

The boxes are pre-assembled. We can't pick specific weights, colors or models for individual orders, so requests in the order notes unfortunately won't be fulfilled. That's what keeps the mystery a mystery, and it's also what lets us get the boxes out in a reasonable time.

In general it might be useful to know that as the production runs of each disc are small, so is the variety of colors and weights. Essentially this means that discs in the boxes come by and large in the max weight range and there's typically 2 colors made overall for each disc featured in the boxes.

A mystery is still a mystery

Picking a version is a way to steer the mystery, not to remove it, and that works both ways. You might open your box to find a disc that hits home right away, or a mold and plastic combo you've been dying to see. You might also find a mold you've already tried and benched, a flight that doesn't quite fit your game, or a color you wouldn't have picked yourself. That mix of hits and maybes is what makes a Mystery Box a mystery, and sometimes the disc you didn't expect to like is the one that ends up in your bag. Give the unexpected ones a couple of rounds before you make up your mind. And if one still doesn't click, it'll make a good gift for someone in your disc golf circle.

How about Premier?

Our new Premier discs have gotten a great reception this year, so we wouldn't blame you for hoping to find some in your box. The thing is, the Premier lineup is still fairly small, and we didn't want to fill the boxes with the same molds and colors that are already widely available. That's why the Orange Edition boxes aren't built around Premier. There's one Premier disc in the mix, which means some boxes will include it, but most won't. As the Premier lineup grows, so do the options for future Mystery Boxes.

A new box for the new formula

The Orange Edition boxes ship in brand new orange packaging. Since this year marks Discmania's 20th anniversary, we wanted the boxes to celebrate that too, so you'll find our 20th anniversary logo printed on the top flap. A small nod to two decades of pioneering disc golf, and to everyone who's been along for the ride.

If you remember the old red and black boxes, note that this one doesn't have a secret bottom compartment, so there's no need to go digging. The secret compartment made sense back when the boxes relied on a single highlight disc, made specifically for the boxes. Now that every disc inside is purpose-made, the secret compartment doesn't have much of a job left.

Inside you'll also find a flyer listing the possible models within your box version of choice, stating how many discs your box should contain. If the math adds up, you're all good.

There's a bit of spare room in the orange box, enough for about 2 extra discs. If your order includes other items, we'll pack them in the same box when they fit. In that case your Mystery Box discs sit underneath a flyer, so you can grab the extras and keep the mystery intact, if you can resist the urge to peek. If you order several boxes, or more than fits in one orange box, everything ships in a larger box, and in some cases in more than one parcel.

Buy 2+ boxes, get 10% off each

If you can't resist the temptation to go for more than one, we've made the deal sweeter. Add two or more Mystery Box products to the same order, Value Packs included, and you'll get 10% off each. The discount kicks in automatically in the cart. The All In Bundle is excluded since it's already discounted, and combining these offers with other discount codes may not be possible.

Free shipping over €120 in the EU

Shipping is free on orders over €120 inside the EU, and on orders over €240 shipping outside the EU. Heads up though: a single Orange Edition box doesn't reach the EU threshold on its own. Two or more boxes in one order do, even with the 10% discount applied, and so does the All In Bundle. Or since the box fits at least 2 extra discs, you can add a couple releases you might have missed this year to get you past the free shipping threshold.

If you want to bulk up the order, we recommend checking out the Premier selection and our best sellers.

When will my box ship?

Order processing starts on release day, Wednesday, November 4th, and the first orders go out that same day. We aim to have every order placed on November 4th processed and shipped from our warehouse by Wednesday, November 11th.

Release week is the busiest week of the year at our warehouse, so our usual 0-2 day processing will be slower for a while. With about a month's worth of orders landing at once, we'll process them in whatever order gets everything out the fastest. That doesn't always exactly match the order they were placed in. Your order is in the queue even if the shipping notification doesn't show up right away. Please give it until November 11th before contacting customer service about shipping status.

Thinking of gifting one?

Good news first: orders placed in November should reach you well ahead of the holidays, so delivery isn't the thing to worry about. Availability is. With quantities this tight, waiting until closer to the holidays is the surest way to miss out on the version you wanted. If a box is on your gift list, the time to order it is when the boxes go live.

When your box arrives

Seeing your unboxing videos and haul posts is one of our favorite parts of the Mystery Box season, so go ahead and share yours, and tag us while you're at it. Just be mindful of spoilers - a lot of people want to keep the mystery intact until they open their own box.

Once your box is open, give the discs a quick count against the flyer: 7 for Team Picks, 6 for Night Shift and Glow Mania. If the numbers match, you're all set. If something's off, say a disc is missing or arrived damaged, just reach out to our customer service with your order number and a photo, and we'll help you get it sorted.

Now go get yours

If you made it this far, good on you. We put a lot of time and effort into our Mystery Boxes every year, and explaining all the details while keeping the mystery intact isn't always simple. There's always some marketing flair in a piece like this, sure, but we'd much rather tell you up front what to expect than explain it afterwards.

This year we kept what worked last winter, no fillers and the power of choice, and fixed the thing you told us bugged you the most: overlap between versions. We know a box is a real investment for a lot of people, and we think these ones earn their price. We hope you'll agree once yours shows up.
