Our goal at Discmania is to push the limits of what's possible and deliver something that truly inspires flight and can Reinvent Your Game. The goal of Premier Technology is to create a discs that fly farther.
Engineered for next-level flight
With Premier, our engineers set out to rebalance the weight of the disc to extract every bit of performance potential from the physics of flight. The result is a completely re-engineered flight plate, designed to reduce overall flight plate weight by over 10% compared to the industry average. This weight has been strategically shifted toward the outer rim, increasing the disc’s moment of inertia, the key to stronger gyroscopic stability. Simply put, the disc stays spinning faster and truer for longer.
New Molds, New Plastic, New Colors
To truly accommodate the new technology, we also created new molds of some of our most popular distance drivers - The DD1, DD3 and the Cloud Breaker - with new molds constantly being developed and tested for possible future additions. The Premier versions of these molds are designed to closely match their original counterparts, but also to adapt to the radically different production method. As a result we're seeing not only longer flights, but also in some cases differences in glide and stability, which means the Premier molds may have differences in flight numbers compared to the classic molds.
The change in weight distribution also meant that at least in some cases, the plastics we've used previously don't necessarily fully allow the desired results for the optimal gyroscopic effect. For the best possible results, we had to create an all new plastic blend, the Q-line. Most releases utilizing the Premier Technology are going to happen in this plastic, but using other plastic types remains a possibility.
We also wanted to make sure the Premier discs stand out visually, so we carefully selected three bold colors for the initial releases - Pearl White, Nordic Blue & Vermilion Red - with other color options to possibly be added down the road.

We tested the Q-line Premier DD3 and a regular S-line DD3 with GameProofer, and the results were clear. The Premier disc's weight distribution resulted in 8% higher spin and 5% improved spin retention. That translates directly to longer glide, straighter flight, and extra distance.
